100 de ani de la nașterea lui Zbigniew Herbert (1924-1998) / 100th Anniversary of Zbigniew Herbert's Birth (1924-1998)

Institution: Prof. PhD., Department of Russian and Slavic Philology, Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures, University of Bucharest

Email: kgeambasu@yahoo.com

Keywords: odb iór, teoria przekładu, literatura porównawcza

Abstract

Wynika z nich przekonująco, że poeta tworzył poezję esencjalną, nowoczesną, pozbawioną zbędnych ozdobników, o subtelnym i wieloznacznym przekazie, nasycon ym ideami. Artykul stanowi również hołd złożony poecie z okazji setnej rocznicy urodzin.

Abstract

In 2018, the most prestigious award for original Slovak prose, the Anasoft Litera, was awarded to the collection of short stories Jedenie by Vojvodina Rusyn author Ivan Medeši. The presented study analyzes the fundamental poetological and axiological specifics of the book, as well as the process of its introduction into the context of contemporary Slovak prose. The collection Jedenie comes from a specific cultural and linguistic area. It had to be translated into standard Slovak from Vojvodina Rusyn language, which is etymologically and formally related to the Eastern-Slovak Zemplín dialect. At the same time, it introduces new impulses to contemporary Slovak prose, especially at the level of narration and language.

Adevărul absolut – trepte de inițiere și suferință în poemul „Nirvana” de Peio K. Iavorov / Absolute Truth – Stages of Initiation and Suffering in the Poem ”Nirvana” by Peio.K. Yavorov

Institution: Assoc. Prof. PhD., Department of Russian and Slavic Philology, Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures, University of Bucharest

Email: katalinapuiu@yahoo.com

Keywords: Nirvana; Peio K. Iavorov; Bulgarian literature, poetry; symbolism; absolute Truth; supreme Knowledge.

Abstract

Iavorov is one of those writers who lived his literary life under the influence of his personal life. "Аз не живея, аз горя" (I do not live, I burn) - he will solemnly declare in one of the most diaphanous poems in Bulgarian lyric poetry. Of supreme beauty, of an almost ritualistic cantability, the poem Nirvana unfolds on a well-known ground and exploited by the French symbolists. The motif of Nirvana, the ultimate state of happiness, balance and tranquility or the search for Absolute Truth and supreme Knowledge, is spreading rapidly in the Bulgarian literary environment. The work aims to highlight an unprecedented fact - Yavorov's Nirvana takes on a completely different appearance, for him the search for the Absolute Truth proceeds in the opposite direction, towards the depths. Poetry becomes the artist's tool of knowledge, a path he travels down, towards the darkness and depth of the human soul.

Slovakistika v Bukurešti medzi tradíciou a tranzíciou / Slovak Studies in Bucharest Between Tradition and Transition

Institution: Assoc. Prof. PhD., Department of Russian and Slavic Philology, Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures, University of Bucharest

Email: felicia.luta@unibuc.ro

Keywords: Slovak Studies, Linguistics, University of Bucharest

Abstract

This paper provides an update of the status of research in the field of Slovak Studies in Romania. At the academic level, the Slovak language has been studied exclusively at the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures of the University of Bucharest since the interwar period, when Slovak was taught as a foreign language within the Czech department. It is during the academic year 1944-1945 that Professor Pandele Olteanu founded the Slovak department, and soon after the school reform (1949-1950) Slovak became one of the major subjects at the University of Bucharest. Each and every generation of Slovakists brought their contribution to the cultivation of the Slovak culture in Romania. This paper is meant to be a sign of respect for our predecessors, for this 80-year tradition and it is also a symbolic confirmation that Slovak Studies will long last at the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures of the University of Bucharest.
